ANNOUNCING the first annual Cancer Awareness Fair to be held in conjunction with the 13th Annual Johns Hopkins Plunge for Patients. The Fair will benefit cancer-related non-profit organizations and will be an educational event for the community. Each organization will have a table display of literature about themselves with the capability of raising funds for their programs, including a silent auction and raffle. Cancer survivors along with friends and families of cancer patients, both living and deceased, will be in attendance to meet the public and share their experiences.
How you can help:
- Choose one or more non-profit organization and donate a tax deductible gift and/or a silent auction prize.
- Forward this flyer to everyone on your email list to help get the word out about the Fair.
- Mail this flyer to all of your business colleagues, friends and family.
- Post this flyer in a highly visible location in your community.

Oncology Prescriptions
The HOPE staff realizes that some of the oncology prescription can be very
expensive and sometimes they are not covered by insurances. If you
have any questions or concerns regarding the cost of your medication, please
contact Joanne GIll, our social worker. There may be some help available,
or we may be able to obtain authorization from you insurance company.

The American Cancer Society's "Look Good/Feel Better" Program is a free educational program that provides instruction on skin care and make up. If the group programs above are not close enough to you, you can request a mail-order video, “Just For you: A step-by-step guide to help you look good feel better during cancer treatment.” Videos can be mailed within the United States and Puerto Rico. Everything at Gilda’s Club is free! Once you become a member, you can participate as much or as little as you like. To learn more about our program and tour the clubhouse, contact Erin McAllister at (609) 926-2699. A new member orientation meeting is held each week, alternating between Tuesday mornings, Thursday evenings and occasionally on Saturday mornings. You can bring a family member or friend if you like. They offer a wide variety of ways for members and volunteers to get together for support, education and fun.

What is a Telephone Education
Workshop? CancerCare's free telephone Education Workshops are
educational seminars that are conducted over the phone. The
workshops are a way for people from across the country and
internationally to learn about cancer-related issues from the
convenience of their home or office. Leading experts in oncology
provide the most up-to-date information on the telephone.
How do I participate? All you need is a telephone to participate in
a Telephone Education Workshop. Participation is free and no phone
charges apply.
How do I register? You may mail in a registration form to

receive a packet of information and instructions.
